1- One item of clothing that has a particular symbolic meaning for me is my Gilbert & George collaboration with Moschino T-shirt. I remember when the collection first released this particular T-shirt instantly caught my eye but as a part time worker there was no way i could ever afford it. However what happened was that . then started working two jobs and when my first ever 4 digit pay check came through i decided i had earned a treat myself day, so when i came to London for my Middlesex Uni open day i went straight to Selfridges afterwards and bought the exact T-shirt i had been wanting since the collection was first revealed. Not only is this T-shirt my first ever luxury brand item, it also represents how hard i had worked to achieve a goal i had no matter how small and materialistic it was. To this day it is still one of my favourite and most cherished items of clothing.
2- According to Barthes, R. no object can escape cultural connotation once it is acknowledged by human beings, whether it be a steak or a Citroen car.
3- Having studied film i was taught that semiotics is the analysis of symbols, to me it means looking at an object and seeing beyond its purpose & appearance and what that object symbolises in culture/society.

This is great - thanks for sharing. Pay attention to the use of 'I' - should be capitalised. Also consider moving forward how this T-shirt functions within other contexts perhaps?
